The AT33 series symbolizes Audio-Technica's Dual Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. Its origins trace back to the AT34, an integrated headshell MC cartridge born in 1977. Since then, audio-technica have developed individual models in response to the changing times. Now, audio-technica bringing them together and completely renewing the lineup as the AT33x series.

Marking the first full model change in 11 years since 2014, this series features a lineup of five models: the AT33xMLB, AT33xMLD, and AT33xEN stereo cartridges, alongside the AT33xMONO/I and AT33xMONO/II monaural cartridges. Utilizing the phono cartridge technology and expertise cultivated over many years since our founding in 1962, we carefully scrutinized materials and applied advanced processing techniques - such as adopting a zinc die-cast cartridge base for the first time - to pursue the ultimate optimal structure.

In addition to the delicate, high-resolution sound that Audio-Technica’s signature MC cartridges are renowned for, audio-technica pursued a balanced sound quality across a wide frequency range. Building upon this, the dense mid-to-low frequency reproduction delivers a composed, grounded resonance. Adding warmth to human vocals and playing a natural, pleasing tone - we aimed to create a product with a unique personality unlike any other.

The dual moving coil system achieves high channel separation and wide frequency response, realizing clear sound image localization while suppressing distortion to an absolute minimum.

Features a nude boron tapered cantilever that narrows in diameter toward the tip. In addition to boron's superior vibration propagation speed, the reduced mass at the tip enhances the cartridge’s high-frequency characteristics, delivering delicate yet rich expressiveness.

By utilizing a double-layered structure at the junction between the cantilever and the armature, rigidity is increased. This improves the strength of the cantilever while suppressing unwanted resonance to enhance overall sound quality.

The small radius of curvature ensures low distortion and expansive high-frequency reproduction, even on the inner grooves of a record.

The dynamic compliance is set slightly lower compared to our existing cartridge models. This broadens the range of setup options alongside conventional products, allowing you to enjoy sound customization more freely.

The high-rigidity and high-density zinc die-cast material suppresses unwanted vibrations, improving expressiveness in the mid-to-low frequency range. This achieves a tight playback sound with a clearly defined core.

▶️Hybrid Body Skillfully Combining Three Materials
Three materials with distinct characteristics - zinc die-cast, aluminum, and hard resin - are arranged in an optimal configuration. This effectively disperses resonance throughout the cartridge body, reproducing a balanced and natural sound without bias toward specific playback frequencies.

▶️Coils Feature PCOCC (Mono-Crystalline High-Purity Oxygen-Free Copper)
PCOCC, which does not produce crystal grain boundaries in the direction of signal transmission, minimizes signal distortion, enabling purer and smoother audio transmission.

▶️High-Sound-Quality Terminal Pins with Thick Gold Plating
By applying a thicker gold-plated layer than in conventional products, we achieved a reduction in contact resistance and an enhancement in overall sound quality.

▶️High-Magnetic-Energy Neodymium Magnet and Permendur Yoke
Creates a powerful magnetic field within the magnetic gap housing the generating coils, maximizing power generation efficiency. This enables playback with high resolution and excellent transient response.
