The Japanese art of Urushi is a tradition dating back 10,000 years. This natural lacquer is sourced from the caustic sap of indigenous

Urushi trees and is hand-applied by select Japanese artisans.

Once cured, the lacquer hardens around the natural rosewood body, altering its resonant frequency and sonic character.

All Koetsu Urushi models use silver-cladded ultra-high purity copper coils,

a process where a silver sheath is slowly drawn over copper to enhance conductivity and sonic performance.
